Surge in new home sales

June 17, 2020

Our collection of new homes is proving exceptionally popular, with a wide range having gone under offer since lockdown was eased for estate agents on 13th May.

“Since our return to work in the middle of May we have experienced a real surge of new home sales across multiple locations. What’s really encouraging is that the sales have been arranged across all price ranges. This band starts at £190,000 right through to £1,250,000.

Demand was strong before the lockdown so as I see it we’ve just kicked on from then. Of course, there will be some pent up demand in these numbers but I don’t think that this remarkable sales position can just be attributed to that alone.

People may forget, but the market at the turn of the year – with Brexit done – had shifted up a gear. Our sales position was very strong right up to the point that lockdown was announced. Demand continued throughout lockdown with buyers increasingly frustrated by our polite refusals to allow viewings to take place. A number of sales were agreed during lockdown from viewings that had taken place prior to. This again demonstrates how strong the demand for property is in this area.

I have been asked about the future sales position and whilst that’s always difficult to forecast I can say this; demand for property currently exceeds supply, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon." Steve Tetlow, Managing Director.

At Little Paddock in Sherfield-on-Loddon we’ve recently agreed a sale on a luxurious £1,250,000 five bedroom country home, along with a four bedroom detached home in Ash Green, a three bedroom detached home at The Coppins, and a two double bedroom apartment at Vantage House, situated in Hook, to name just a few.

Our local branches are certainly being kept busy with new homes buyers.

Along with activity on the aforementioned developments, further interest and sales has been experienced at Castlebrook, Montgomery gardens, The Great Oaks, Foreman Manor, Willow Meadows, Fleet Mill and more. Our Farnborough branch is also eagerly awaiting the launch of Cricketer’s Close, coming this summer, with Hook officially opening Acorn House next weekend, by appointment.

Situated in great commuter locations and with so many benefits to be taken into consideration, it’s no wonder our new homes are proving so popular.

Financial incentives, including Help to Buy, stamp duty paid and legal fees included across a selection of developments are making a new home more appealing than ever.
