The dedicated parents, teachers and pupils of Whitewater Primary School put together a fantastic summer fair boasting a huge range of games, activities and entertainment. Where to start?!

Outside, under cover of gazebo and marquee were the tea and cake tent, tombola, Bar tent and of course BBQ. In addition the year 5 enterprise group hosted a range of traditional games such as ‘guess how many sweets in a jar’ and ‘hook a duck’. The bouncy castle, archery and pony rides were susceptible to the quick heavy downpour and visitors dashed in to the school hall for cover, to then be entertained by impressive dance and gymnastic demonstrations from pupils.

In the hall there was a large cake stall with an exceptional butterfly cake as ‘cake raffle’ prize, several other stalls selling jewelry, handmade ethical cards and organic produce, our own Mackenzie Smith prize draw and a pottery painting stall which was very popular. An unusual and interesting addition to the fair was a lovely award winning bee keeping gentleman who had bees hatching out of the honeycomb before our very eyes (in their glass enclosure!). And when the sun came out, the bandstand was host to entertainment such as a Zumba demonstration which attracted many dancers, and the final event of the day, the drawing of the grand raffle.

We are pleased to have sponsored the raffle at this event where some fantastic prizes have been donated by local companies allowing the school to raise £600 towards the incredible and commendable total proceeds of £3427 to go towards hand held computers for school trips and to subsidise future school trips. A great day was had by all, what a fantastic way to raise money and bring the community together!
