Jenny 007Jenny plays an invaluable role within our Lettings team, if you’re a Tenant or Landlord of ours, chances are you’ll have spoken. For those of you who don’t get the pleasure of dealing with our Lettings Department on a regular basis, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to shine the spotlight on Jenny Walter, our Lettings Administrator.

Jenny is due to celebrate her 2nd anniversary with Mackenzie Smith next month, whilst a relatively new face to the company, she has an experienced background in the industry. “I’ve worked in both Lettings and Property Management for over 25 years. Having started in Central London, I took a career break of 6 months to travel around in Australia. When I returned to the UK,  I left London behind and started working in the Home Counties.”

With such a longstanding history within the industry, it’s always fascinating to find out what led our colleagues to their chosen career paths. “I had a Saturday job in an Estate Agents when I was at College, which sparked an interest in the property market for me. At the time of looking for a full time job, I saw an advert for a vacancy in the Lettings Department for an agency in Kensington, which I went on to apply for. The rest, as they say, is history! I have worked for both the large corporate and small independent estate agents. However, I do prefer to work for an independent agent, which is what led me to Mackenzie Smith. I had also previously worked with the Lettings Director, Michael Clarke, several years prior. The part time hours and the role seemed to fit perfectly, so two years down the line and here we are!”

Jenny’s role as Lettings Administrator is hugely varied, but the main focus and drive is to make a tenancy run as smoothly as possible for both the landlord and tenant, something Jenny is extremely passionate about delivering. Whilst a highlight of the job for Jenny is the team that she works with, her most memorable moments come from her days working in London, where she frequently met with celebrities to show them around available properties.

When Jenny isn’t assisting our wonderful landlords and tenants, or showing the A-List crowd around properties, she enjoys making the most of the countryside we have on our doorstep, along with travelling to new places with her husband and miniature schnauzer dog.
