For this week’s spotlight article, we’re introducing one of our newest recruits, Fleet’s Andy Moran. Andy joined us less than a month ago, as our newest Senior Client Manager.

Andy joins the successful Fleet team at a really exciting time, with a refreshed staff set-up seeing former Senior Client Manager, James Harris, taking the helm as Branch Manager with a flying start, seeing plenty of new homes coming to the market and, more importantly, selling.

Andy brings a wealth of experience to the Fleet branch, over 21 years. “I’ve been in the industry since 1996 and have worked with some of the largest independent estate agents. I have extensive experience across the London, Hampshire and Surrey property markets, which has given me a broad range of skills and knowledge within the residential, land and new homes sectors.  I’ve always been intrigued by property from an early age, so when I saw the advert for a trainee position back in ’96, I jumped at the chance. My career highlight was opening a new office in Brockley, South London, which was not only my first management position, but also a brand new area for the business, so a huge challenge, but within 12 months we’d made it a profitable gamble. Whilst this was a challenge to really get stuck in on, another big challenge was the property crash in 2008, but I think both scenarios have helped to shape me as the agent I am today.”

Having worked with other independent agencies in the area, what was it that drew Andy to a career at Mackenzie Smith? “I’ve always been impressed by Mackenzie Smith’s profile and reputation. I’ve also seen first-hand the level of service provided as I bought my current home through the Farnborough branch. The service and customer focus is a real motivator for me, taking someone from the day I value their home, right through to handing over the keys is hugely rewarding and a process in which I can change a person’s perspective of estate agents for the better.”

When Andy isn’t selling homes, he loves to spend time with his family along with pursuing a variety of sporting activities. Not only, is he involved in his local Triathlon club, but he’s actually competing in the UK Ironman this July, which will consist of a 2.4 mile open water swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and finished with a full marathon, all done in one day!

“I personally find Fleet and the surrounding villages a wonderful area to work. I have spent many hours walking around the pond with my family and running up and down the canal.”
