Christmas markets are coming to town, so wrap up warm and be prepared to indulge and revel in the festivities, with food, fun and some early Christmas shopping.
As winter chills the air, it seems everyone is gearing up for the festive season. The Christmas ads have started to creep onto TV and the supermarkets are filling the aisles with tempting mince pies and mulled wine.
Our local villages and towns are all set to kick off the season’s festivities in style, sparing no efforts to host a memorable event. The spirit of Christmas will certainly fill the air, as the elaborate fayres offer plenty of food, entertainment and fun for the whole family to enjoy.

Ash Christmas Fantasia | Saturday 25th November
Ash’s Christmas Fantasia brings another festive community gathering, brimming with stalls, games, food and entertainment. It all kicks off with a BBQ running throughout the afternoon, followed by carol singing later in the day. As everyone gathers around the Christmas Tree, Father Christmas will arrive at the Wharf, with his band of “jolly” helpers to switch on the Christmas tree lights and distribute sweets to the children. The festivities will end with mulled wine and mince pies.
Fleet Christmas Festival | Wednesday 29th November | 3pm – 9pm
This bustling event gets the festive season off to a great start, with something to offer the whole family. Over 100 stalls will offer a variety of gifts, crafts and free craft activities for children. There will be a scrumptious selection of food and drink for you to buy or try, keeping you fuelled for the busy afternoon which has plenty of entertainment; live music, fun fair attractions, the amazing Giant Snow Globe as well as the official Christmas lights switch on.
Hartley Wintney Christmas Market & Carols on the Common | Thursday 7th December | 4pm – 8pm
Hartley Wintney’s Christmas Market kicks off the season’s festivities with seasonal produce and plenty of entertainment. Set in the heart of the village, the event hosts a Jazz Band, Santa Claus on his sleigh and Carols on the Common, all centred around the illuminated Christmas tree. The festivities will conclude with a striking fireworks display.
Christmas in Farnborough | Saturday 18th November
There is a lot happening in Farnborough this Christmas, from the official lights switch on to numerous craft fayres each week. The Meads lights switch on will be staged outside Debenhams, also offering free entertainment and fun activities for the whole family. You could even meet the Princes Hall panto stars and see local dance troupe Spotlite Dance perform, while a ‘mystery guest’ will be switching on the Christmas lights!
The Craft Fayre will take place at Queensmead, on Saturday 18th November between 9am – 4pm, followed by the popular Frost Fayre on 25th November and the Christmas Craft Fayre on 16th December.
Princess Mead Christmas lights switch on takes place on Saturday 25th November, which presents another afternoon of family fun with Father Christmas and the Princes Hall panto stars. Father Christmas’ grotto arrives on Sunday 26th November and will remain in town from 11am – 3.30pm every weekend until 23rd December.
Farnborough Christmas Indoor Market | Sunday 26th November
Farnborough Indoor Christmas Market hosts a fun-filled family day, with a variety of 50 stalls offering all sorts of gifts, activities and food. Popular stalls include handmade gifts, Christmas decorations, Christmas Eve boxes, fairies, elves, homemade treats, sweets, popcorn, face painting, glitter tattoos, cakes, homeware, books and health and beauty products. There is even a live cupcake decorating demonstration, a Christmas photo shoot and a live book reading from the author Fiona Scott reading her new Christmas book, ‘The Troll of Trafalgar Square’.

Hook Christmas Cracker | Saturday 2nd December | 2pm – 9pm
The village comes together to celebrate Christmas on Saturday 2nd December. Hook comes alive with the cracking event, hosting entertainment for the whole family. Local shops and pubs all get involved in the Christmas spirit, while the centre stage on Station Road brings a whole host of fun, from street entertainers to fun fairs.
Yateley Christmas Market | Saturday 25th November | 3.30pm – 6.30pm
Yateley’s Christmas Market takes place at Church End Green. The planned festivities are set to please, offering musical interludes, roast chestnuts, pork roast and much more. The Town Mayor will switch on the Christmas lights and there will be community carol singing.
Aldershot Community Christmas Celebration | Saturday 9th December | 10am – 5pm
Aldershot town leaves nothing to spare in the entertainment factor, bringing a whole host of family fun, with festive stalls, craft fayres and performances. There will be numerous activities and face painting to keep the children entertained while they await Santa’s arrival.
Farnham Christmas Market | Sunday 10th December | 10am – 4pm
Wrap up warm and head into Farnham Town Centre as it transforms into a festive marketplace offering indulgent treats, joyful entertainment and a chance to pick up some unique gifts for your loved ones. There will be plenty to enjoy, from live music to food treats and mulled wine, as you browse through 200 stalls, all offering a variety of treasures and goodies. Children will be able to meet Father Christmas in his magical grotto and pet the animals in the live nativity, complete with Mary, Joseph and a little donkey.
