The consultation covered four key areas:
- A Vision for Fleet
- The Economy of the Town
- Transport and Accessibility
- Our Community
The Vision put forward by Fleet Future has been found to be representative of the public view as 95% agreed Fleet should be a “Bustling, attractive, sustainable, leafy green town which is easy to get about in and has an active community.”
Chairman, Michael Butcher, says “This was a great start and has given the Fleet Future Team the assurance that they are on the right track and were really listening to the views and opinions of the whole community”.
Being within Hart District, the best place to live in the country for 2 years*, and adjacent to Church Crookham, which has recently been picked out as one of the top family friendly locations in the country+, it’s no surprise that the Fleet Future are on the pulse when it comes to improving this special town in ways which retain its character and community.
Over 750 written comments have been provided in addition to the survey results, all forming part of the recommendations which will be incorporated into a Town Plan for Fleet. To get involved as part of Fleet Future’s Action Teams email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The continued development of the town and community, and consistent demand for property in Fleet, means we can only anticipate that conditions in the local property market will be maintained; a shortage of property supply supporting strong sale prices and encouraging buyers to be in a ready position to buy as they are competing against other purchasers.
