The couple, who took up the Help to Buy scheme to buy their first home priced at £359,950 are loving the experience of being in their own property after years of renting.
Suraj, 26, said: “We both feel very proud that we’ve managed to save enough of a deposit to get on the property ladder in this part of the southeast, without any financial support from the family. As first-time buyers, being able to take advantage of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, made homeownership a reality for us.”
Johnathan, 35, added: “The Bewley sales team could not have been more helpful and communicative. We spend a lot of time being uncontactable due to our jobs, but the staff were fantastic at working around this and developed a great rapport with us. So much so, that the buying process was a pleasure and not at all stressful!”
For both Suraj and Johnathan a visit to the three-bedroom show home on site convinced them that nothing else on the market locally compared to a Bewley new build home. Suraj explained: “We had done our research and looked at other new developments, but nothing came close to Ash Lodge Park. We couldn’t fault the generosity of inside and outside space, clever layout, and exceptional high-quality finish.”

The couple are passionate gardeners, so the gardens were a big benefit too. Suraj added: “We absolutely love gardening and enjoy nothing better than pottering about outdoors in our spare time, so for us, it was a major plus to find this house with a generous sized garden.”
Suraj and Johnathan also enjoy socialising and entertaining friends at home. Their favourite part of their home is the size and layout of the living/dining room and the aspect looking out into the garden. Johnathan said: “The way the living and dining space connects with and looks out onto the garden really makes it feel like we have an extra outdoor room. We’re looking forward to throwing the doors open and hosting summer dinner and parties.”
