As we say goodbye to the summer months and enter the autumn period the signs are positive for the housing market in Fleet and for a strong end to the year.

Whilst there has been a shortage of fresh instructions coming to the marketplace in July and August, the message we are getting from buyers registered with Mackenzie Smith is that they are hoping to see plenty more new properties coming on the market in the next 2-3 months with a view to purchasing a new home and being settled before the year end.

Whilst there has been this shortage around, buyers are still being cautious in terms of what price they are prepared to pay for any given property and will tend to research the local marketplace even more than ever to establish what in their mind is the correct price, in addition to listening to the estate agents view and studying comparable evidence given.

This has been seen clearly in terms of the properties that are selling against those that remain on the market with minimal or no interest. Therefore, accurate pricing is still key to the whole house moving process. The aim being to balance achieving the best price possible for our clients and actually valuing the property at a level that will generate interest and ultimately get our clients moved.

In addition to our normal office activities we have been busy over the last month with a mini office refit, updating our window displays and internal layout giving us additional advertising space to show our clients properties in a new and eye catching manner.

We have also strengthened our already experienced team here in Fleet with the new arrival of Paul Johnston as Assistant Branch Manager. Paul boasts 20 years experience within the industry and has run and managed several high profile offices within the Thames Valley area.

We also welcomed Deborah Anderson on board who has joined the team to manage the admin/secretarial side of the office and also boasts over 20 years of experience in this role.
