This Mothering Sunday, let’s take some ancient inspiration and treat your special lady to the splendour of a Greek goddess – without even having to step out of the local area.

Sunday 11th March marks a significant opportunity for us all, to show a little gratitude and thanks to that very special lady in our lives – our one in a million mum!

This year, we are taking the celebrations back to their roots, seeking inspiration from its earliest origins in the Greek era, when numerous Greek Goddesses were honoured in appreciation of the rebirth of the new spring season. As you would expect, the grandeur of such celebrations would be difficult to recreate, yet the indulgences and fine treatments are certainly achievable. Here are just some of what is available locally:

Be sure to book in advance for this popular event.

These are just some of the very extravagant ways you can spoil your mum on this special day but do remember it is often the simplest gestures that create the biggest smile. Simply treating her to a delicious breakfast in bed, cooking a homemade dinner or even taking the kids out so mum can have some time to herself, are inexpensive ways to give her a well-deserved break – even just for the day. Recent findings indicate over half the mums in the UK have never been treated to breakfast in bed,  so that may be a good place to start!

From all of us at Mackenzie Smith, we hope you have a fantastic Mother’s Day, and if you are the mum, are very dearly spoilt.
