Genesis Research Trust Local reflexologist Jill Jewis is holding an adult ‘School Disco’ on Saturday 4th October to raise funds for The Genesis Research Trust charity.

The proceeds from the ‘School Disco’ at Elizabeth Hall, Hook will go towards fundraising which will include a raffle at the disco, Mackenzie Smith are pleased to be providing a prize for the raffle in support of Jill’s efforts.

Then in 2015 Jill will be taking part in a 300km cycle challenge across the Indian southern state of Kerala.

The Genesis Research Trust charity was set up by Professor Robert Winston to finance the largest UK collection of scientists and clinicians working to improve the health of women and babies.  Cancer, miscarriage, still birth, premature birth and brain damage are all diseases and conditions that these scientists are working to prevent

  • 1 in 200 babies is stillborn
  • 1 in 18 babies is born prematurely
  • 1 in 5 pregnancies ends in miscarriage
  • Every year 6500 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer
