In the immortal words of Bill Nighy, “Christmas is all around”, with December 8th being the most popular day of the month for putting up the Christmas tree, chances are your home is already full of festive flourishes. But, if you want to immerse yourself in the season even more, we’ve put together a few ideas of how to introduce Christmas cheer to each room…
Whilst the living room tends to be the hub of family activity and entertaining around Christmas, for those slaving away in the kitchen, a bit of Christmas sparkle could certainly help and would undoubtedly make the pigs in blankets even better this year.
Whilst the Christmas tree is more than likely in the lounge, you can get smaller versions for the kitchen, the ideal solution would be Waitrose’s Rosemary Christmas tree – it’s good enough to eat, and cook with.
Waking up on Christmas morning never really loses its sense of excitement. A few festive touches in the bedroom could help create the perfect space for a cup of tea in bed whilst the children open their presents. From tea light candle holders, ribbons for wardrobe door handles, garlands for headboards – there are plenty of options. You could also invest in some festive bedding, retailers have long adopted this fashion, with some opting for subtle fairisle patterns and some going all in.
The bathroom is more than likely the room that Christmas forgot in your home, but what better time to enjoy the relaxation of a bath. To add a festive flourish why not hang a Christmas wreath indoors, you will find many indoor options these days. Cute Christmas towels could make a great gift or statement upon the rail this December, similarly to the bedding, you’ll find some full on festive options and some that are softer. You’ll also find fun accessories at this time of year; soap dispensers, bath maps, laundry baskets, shower curtains… you name it, you can get a festive twist on it.
However you choose to decorate and, indeed, celebrate this Christmas, we wish you and your family all the best this season.
