Mackenzie Smith are pleased to announce that this year’s Hartley Wintney festival will take place on Saturday 8th June. We are returning as proud sponsors of this long running family-friendly event, held every year, on the village’s Oak Common.

Beginning with a historically themed procession around the Cricket Green by community groups and individuals, events will be held throughout the afternoon. You can expect to see a marching band, children’s choirs and Morris Men, with the children able to participate in races, whilst everyone can demonstrate a show of strength in the popular tug of war.

New for this year, the festival will host a Fun Dog Show, whilst motor enthusiasts and families alike can enjoy the regular popular display of classic motor vehicles and stationary engines, with entrants competing for a variety of prizes.

Plenty of other family entertainment will be available, guaranteed to keep the children entertained, with a mini funfair, bouncy castle, climbing tower, a traditional Punch and Judy show, as well as crowd drawing sumo-wrestling!

Refreshments will also be available, with a barbecue including freshly cooked burgers and sausages, as well as delicious home baked cakes and ice cream.

In traditional village style, the festival will include a range of stalls and exhibits, as well as other country activities, mainly run by local clubs and societies.

Programmes are available at just £2 on the day, but can be bought in advance from the Rotary Club of Hart. All proceeds from the programmes and collections will be donated to St Michaels Hospice in Basingstoke, who provide quality palliative care, whilst any excess is donated to other notable worthy local causes.

With the weather predicted as pleasant on the day, we hope you will enjoy this fun-filled festival!
