With Halloween over, we can begin to get into the festive spirit! Christmas lights are being turned on in local villages and towns over the next few weeks, offering the chance to celebrate with your family and friends within the local community. Christmas markets also provide an opportunity to start our Christmas shopping, as well as our savouring our favourite seasonal delicacies…
Ash Wharf Christmas Fantasia, Saturday 1st December
Ash Wharf is hosting a Christmas Fantasia, with a variety of events to choose from. Stalls include the traditional tombola and a tempting cake stall. Seasonal songs from local carol singers; the Ash Vale Ensemble, St Peter’s and St Mary’s Church choirs will lift your spirits, performing around the Christmas tree at 4.30pm. At 5pm everybody’s favourite, Father Christmas, will arrive with sweets for the children and switch on the tree lights. Farnborough Frost Fair, Saturday 24th November
There is plenty to entertain you and the family at the Farnborough Frost Fair in Queensmead, Farnborough. The fun begins at 10am, offering food, music and a variety of free seasonal festivities, including the Christmas lights switch on at The Meads Shopping Centre. Fleet Christmas Festival, Wednesday 28th November
The centre of Fleet will enjoy an abundance of festivities, with stalls offering local produce, seasonal gifts, arts and crafts, food and drink. Hart Shopping Centre will be a focal point, with free wine, mince pies and other entertainment to enjoy, as well as the Christmas lights switch on. Gurkha Square will be presenting a pantomime cast and local school choirs along with community stalls. For the children, Santa’s Grotto will be held at The Harlington. Hartley Wintney Christmas Market, Thursday 5th December
A variety of festive stalls will be available to choose from at Hartley Wintney’s Christmas Market, with cards, jewellery and a number of other options to get the Christmas shopping underway. The market opens at 4pm and finishes at 8pm, giving you and the family plenty of time to peruse the little luxuries on offer.
Hook School Village Christmas Market, Friday 30th November
Hook School are hosting a market from 5pm to 8pm, so head on by to support this sociable fundraising event and support your local school. Much is on offer, including the well-anticipated visit from Father Christmas, with stalls, games and refreshments available. For more information, the school can be contacted via their Facebook page.
The Yateley Lions will be hosting Yateley’s popular Christmas Market again this year. The event will be held at Church End Green, in front of the Dog & Partridge from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. Many festivities will be available, with a variety of market stalls, scrumptious seasonal roast chestnuts, tempting roast pork and merry tunes brightening the event.
