Yateley
“Most evenings after logging off, we would set off over Yateley Green and down Vicarage Road to Horseshoe Lake and walk along by the River Blackwater. For a change of scene, we would also walk up to Blackbush Airport and walk along the old runway, encountering adders on some warm evenings.” – Lettings Manager, Tracy Cook
Farnborough
Our Farnborough Branch Manager is local himself, as are most of our teams, he has spent lockdown enjoying Southwood’s Woodland. This 57-hectare natural green spot offers a network of formal and informal paths, with a 2.4 kilometre circular walking route, starting from the 31-space Kennels Lane car park. There is dog-proof fencing along the boundaries of Ively Road.
Ash Vale
Whilst working from our Fleet office, Research Assistant Debbie Coleman lives with her family nearby in Ash Vale. “Ash Vale and Mychett have several access points onto the tow path along the Basingstoke canal. It’s a really lovely walk, especially at the moment with signets, ducklings and all the flowers in bloom. The canal runs from Basingstoke to Byfleet (I think) so it can be as long or short a walk as you want it to be. Once they’re open again, there’s also The Swan pub in Ash Vale which is right on the canal and Mytchett have the Canal Centre with lots for little ones to do.”
Fleet
Fleet Pond is Hampshire’s largest freshwater lake, with 141 acres of woodland, heathland and a circular walk. There are multiple points of access and three options for the length of walk, ranging from 0.6 miles to 2.5 miles.
Hook
This area extends roughly 10 acres of open public space, with a circular walk, the River Whitewater, ponds, woodland and more – it’s just to the side of Holt Park so is popular with dog walkers and joggers but is highly accessible for the residents of Hook.
Hartley Wintney
There’s a lovely circular walk, starting from West Green House, continuing across fields and stiles with woodland views to see the River Whitewater, a churchyard and more. Ever so pretty with full info here.
