Inside Hart’s £23million new leisure centre

On arrival to the centre I was instantly impressed by the manicured finish and modern styles, if you haven’t visited the centre yet, the out of town feel for the centre is tranquil and calming with plenty of parking and open green areas.

pool 2You’ll notice on approaching the entrance that you can see through to the pool, this large window is a really great touch, that when in the swimming area, or viewing balcony, creates a really bright and vibrant feel. The swimming pools themselves (there are 3) offer plenty of space for lessons. There is a shallow pool for young learners, an 8 lane, 25M main pool, and a state of the art 25M, 4 lane training pool with a movable floor. Swimmer Rebecca Adlington was clearly impressed with the facilities, “Hart Leisure Centre is a great facility for the whole community”. The pool also has a grandstand viewing balcony which backs onto the virtual spinning room.

The virtual spinning classes are one option this centre provides, in addition to standard spinning and approximately 20 other group exercise classes covering a wide range of activities.

climbing wallThe 130 station gym offers top of the range equipment with a wide selection available using the latest in technology to combine training with leisure with interactive screens allowing you to connect with youtube, facebook etc.

The changing rooms also features a health studio, offering a sauna and a steam room. In addition to all of this the centre also provides a creche, cafe, multi-use sprung floor sports hall, climbing facilities, a full size artificial football pitch, four 5 a side 3g pitches and two outdoor grass pitches.

Personally, I found the centre to be a really relaxing, yet inspiring environment that offers a luxury feel where you want to be a part of it.
