The seasonally adjusted data shows that 106,480 property transactions took place in August, more than any month since February 2014 and they have also risen by 5.7 per cent compared with the corresponding month last year.
It is the third month in succession that home sales of more than 100,000 have been recorded. However, these are still below the monthly sales of close to 150,000, recorded at the height of the property boom in 2006.
Steve Panther from our Farnborough office commented that they have; “ noted an increase in good quality valuation appointments and properties coming to the local market and interestingly, whilst it is still very much a seller’s market, prices have to be at the absolute correct level to turn the high numbers of viewings into asking price offers.
With interest rates remaining low, we would encourage those thinking of moving to come to market now, as there is still plenty of time for transactions to complete by Christmas”.
If you are considering moving and would like to take advantage of the current buoyant market, please do not hesitate to contact your local office.
