I have often found that October is a very good selling month. As agents we are always looking to identify certain periods in the year that will represent favourable market conditions for selling property.
Very often September is considered to be the start of the Autumn market following the summer months and all that entails. However, I often find that month is dominated by people returning to work, kids back to school etc and to be truthful it can be frustrating as it can often take 2/3 weeks for the market to move.
October is also seen as a time to make decisions. If you want to move by the end of the year or at the beginning of the new one then now is the time to make decisions.
We reckon 65% of our business for September will have been written in the last two weeks of the month.
I am not normally one to comment on the weather as there are far more fundamentals affecting the market but the cracking weather can only help…
