Frimley run batman Crawford

Robin: Martin   Batman: Crawford

On Sunday 3rd May at 10am my best friend Martin and I took part in the Frimley Park Breast Cancer Charity run which was a 10km road run all around Frimley and Camberley.

That morning it had been raining and so that meant the temperature was quite cool which was lucky really considering the costumes we were wearing!

There were well over 1,000 people running which included some other super hero’s such as Superman, Spiderman and even another Batman and Robin. The atmosphere was amazing and everyone who was involved in the run really encouraged each other and there was a real sense of comradeship.

I finished the run in 636 place out of about 1,000 with a time of 1:01 which I don’t think is bad going in fancy dress! By the end of the race I was feeling extremely hot and bothered, it was a real relief to remove the Batman mask I can tell you.

Not being a particularly ‘athletic’ person I felt quite proud to have completed the race and especially proud of the money I’ve raised for the Breast Care Appeal which is over £500 – Big thanks to everyone who donated. I will definitely be back to do the race again in 2016 but next time I will choose an outfit with a bit more ventilation!!
