Join the whole village of Hartley Wintney on the Oak Common on Saturday the 8th June for the annual extravaganza that is the Hartley Wintney Festival.

With bunting festooned around the common and up the high street there is no mistaking the air or celebration, and why not when the Halifax Survey happily confirmed it really is the best place to live in the country for the second year running.

Classic cars are an intriguing staple of the event which wouldn’t be complete without the huge BBQ, bar, Morris dancing and Tug of War. A procession led by a marching band, followed by floats and a parade of classic cars and local groups in themed dress. Of course Mackenzie Smith have continued the tradition of sponsoring the BBQ at the event.

There will be a huge range of stalls offering games, gifts and treats from local groups and charities such as the scouts, guides and local schools, with plenty of entertainment for the children including a puppet show, bouncy castle, animals to pet and a mini fairground.

A programme for the event is available for £1 from stockists in the village/The Rotary Club of Hart and on the day, with events commencing from 12.30. Proceeds from the sale of the programmes will go to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
