Blessed by a break in the otherwise unsettled weather that week, the fair drew a crowd of nearly 300 families to take part in the many games and competitions on offer at Elvetham Heath Fair.
The fair was to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Elvetham Heath Primary school. There were stalls from small local businesses, the traditional cake sale, a coconut shy, bouncy castle, and many other games. For those who like to take their chances there was a bottle tombola, silent auction and grand raffle with some great prizes including a day at the British Touring Car Championships at Silverstone, a nights break at The De Vere Village Hotel, and a week’s free Skip Hire! One parent was lucky enough to win a ‘barrow of booze’ which looked rather heavy!
There were plenty of refreshments on offer too, of course a BBQ, drinks tent, and for the sweeter tooth cream teas. The day was a great success raising a record breaking £3000 for the school and a lot of fun was had by the whole family as well as stall holders and teachers of Elvetham Heath Primary school.
