Winning local pubs

November 24, 2021

Many of us are looking forward to Christmas drinks with friends and family at this time of year! In our branch towns and villages, we are spoilt by some fantastic local pubs, read on to find out more…

Our superb local pubs beat the competition hands down this month, announced as the best to visit out of 4,500 contenders in Hampshire.

Surveyed by independents of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale recognised the excellent quality of the real ale, ciders, and perry on offer at our local pubs.

There was an exceptional success at Farnborough, with award-winning Prince of Wales, The Goat in the Garden, and Wetherspoon’s Tilly Shilling all making the shortlist.

Many others were also cited as excellent places to sample ales of the finest quality, providing an excellent variety of local pubs to choose from this Christmas.

Tantalize your taste buds with beautiful draught ales at the reputable Wyvern in Church Crookham, or Wetherspoon’s Prince Arthur in Fleet.

Socialize with friends and family at heritage pub, Wagon and Horses in Hartley Wintney. Enjoy the charm of a warming log fire at Crooked Billet in Hook, have a beautiful Sunday roast at Dog and Partridge in Yateley, or the perfect pint at Garden Gate in Aldershot.

Also winning the experts’ nod of approval were Mr Bumble, Blackwater, Four Horseshoes, Sherfield-on-Loddon, Mill House of North Warnborough, and Red Lion of Odiham.

Where ever you choose to have your festive beer, cheers from us at Mackenzie Smith!
