A simply delightful grade II listed thatched cottage nestled in mature grounds with an idyllic semi rural location on the fringes of Eversley. Believed to date back to the early 17th century, the property retains many original features including an open fireplace and beamed ceilings.

Location Eversley is a village and civil parish in the Hart District of North-East Hampshire, 13 miles North East of Basingstoke with its northern boundary formed by the River Blackwater. Eversley means 'Wild Boar Clearing' and the boar is the symbol of the village, as shown on the village sign. The parish contains a number of hamlets: Eversley Village (sometimes called Eversley Street), Eversley Centre, Eversley Cross, Lower Common and Up Green. The author Charles Kingsley (The Water Babies and Westward Ho!) was rector of the parish for 35 years and is buried in the church yard of St Mary's Church.

The village has good amenities with a village shop, four public houses, a church and a primary school (Charles Kingsley's School). There are cricket and football teams with Eversley Cricket Club being one of the oldest in Hampshire, a river and some wonderful countryside.

Ground Floor Accommodation On entering the Cottage through the solid wood front door you are greeted by a charming vestibule which leads to the principal reception rooms as well as a cloakroom. The spacious living room is delightful and enjoys a dual aspect with attractive French doors that open onto a patio with steps to the gardens. This room is further complimented by a superb brick built fireplace for those cosy winter nights. To one end of the room is a partially separate living area which could be used as a library, study or music room. The sizable dining room is conveniently situated just off the kitchen and lends itself perfectly to entertaining. The kitchen has a range of units and space for many appliances, while the window to the rear enjoys a picturesque view over the gardens and beyond.

First Floor Accommodation Upstairs are three double bedrooms and one single bedroom (two of the bedrooms benefit from 3.6 metre high vaulted ceilings), which are complimented by a three piece bathroom suite.

Outside The grounds are fully enclosed and enjoy a high degree of privacy and seclusion. Principally laid to lawn, the gardens are bordered by areas of mature planting, including shrub beds along with numerous trees and bushes. The rear boundary is defined principally by a mature hedge; beyond there are uninterrupted views over the adjoining farm land. Within the grounds stands a detached garage and parking.
