Faster Offer-to-Completion on Property Sales Ahead

Here at Mackenzie Smith, we are always keen to share positive developments that make moving home a smoother, more efficient experience for our clients. That’s why we were delighted to hear the recent news from the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC), which signals a significant and welcome step towards modernising the home buying and selling process.

The property industry is coming together with a shared goal; to reduce the time it takes from agreeing a sale to completing with the keys. A faster process means less chance of stress for everyone involved and a more dynamic market for all.

Funding for a Faster, More Secure Future

The CLC has recently secured a substantial £750,000 of UK Government funding, an investment that will be channelled into developing a new, end-to-end digital case management system. In an exciting collaboration, the CLC will partner with the Open Property Data Association (OPDA) and Raidiam, a provider of banking technology, to create the structure for digitising property data.

This initiative is committed to tackling some of the traditional obstacles by enabling the safe and secure sharing of information upfront among all parties involved in a transaction.

What This Means for Home Sellers

While the finer details are being developed by the legal experts, the overarching benefit for home sellers is simple, with the prospect of quicker and more transparent sales’ progressions. By creating a trusted, streamlined, and interconnected digital platform, the aim is to improve communication and minimise hold-ups from the very start.

At Mackenzie Smith, we believe that embracing innovation is key to providing an outstanding service. This industry-wide drive to speed up conveyancing through robust data sharing aligns perfectly with our own approach to efficient and effective estate agency.

We see this as a positive move for the entire property sector. With a more coordinated and technologically advanced legal process, there will in all likelihood be less risk of pain points for our clients.

We will be watching this development with great interest and look forward to seeing these positive changes take shape, for the benefit of everyone moving home.
