For this week’s spotlight article, we’re introducing one of our newest recruits, Hartley Wintney’s Danny O’Hanrahan. Danny joined the team just three months ago, as our newest Senior Client Manager.

Whilst Danny is a relatively recent addition to the team, he brings plenty of experience with him, having worked as an agent and lived locally for many years. “My first introduction to the world of estate agency wasn’t necessarily the standard route. I started out at an independent agency in Uxbridge, which was primarily a firm of solicitors which had an additional area of business with selling houses. It was a great introduction to the business, and whilst the estate agency was perhaps a side-line business, I thoroughly enjoyed the independent aspect.” Danny has since gone on to work in several popular and desirable areas across Surrey and Hampshire, allowing him to feel perfectly at home in the prestigious village of Hartley Wintney.

As is often the case, it was family that led Danny down the estate agent career path, “my brother was an estate agent who later became a developer, so I had a very good teacher”. With family in the business, it’s unsurprising that it was the ethics of Mackenzie Smith that brought him to our team. “Mackenzie Smith are renowned within the industry to have a strong work ethic and structure. The fact that they invest in their people was highly appealing, combined with the good reputation of providing strong customer service, which is clear from the number of five star TrustPilot reviews.”

People also play a large part in Danny’s passion for being an agent; “meeting new people is one of the most fascinating and interesting parts of the job. Hartley Wintney in particular, along with some of my previous branch towns, has such diversity, I also enjoy seeing the selection of property on offer and how differently they can be presented. However, I get most satisfaction from getting the sale through to the point of completion, there’s nothing better than being able to hand over the keys to the new owners. I recall selling a very high end home on a prestigious development which had a variety of complications causing a tricky sales process, when we managed to get the sale to exchange on Christmas Eve, the vendors, buyers and I couldn’t have been happier. That sense of achievement will always make this job hard to beat.”

Each of our branch locations are completely unique, Hartley Wintney offering character, heritage and community with an extremely diverse selection of houses. It’s that diversity that Danny enjoys, along with the community spirit which is remarkably strong in the village and surrounding areas. Within the village, along with the vast areas of green space, Danny can also be seen enjoying the Fish and Chip shop on occasion.

Outside of work, Danny spends his time swimming and cycling with his daughter, they’re both very excited about the hotly anticipated re-opening of Coral Reef.
