Year after year, leading property portal Rightmove reports high volumes of home searches over the festive period.
Online activity peaks on Boxing Day, with Rightmove recording their busiest ever just last year. On Boxing Day 2021, visits to Rightmove were already 54% higher than in 2020. Also, homes coming onto the market on Boxing Day of 2022 rose by 21% compared to 2021. Prospective buyers’ online activity was up by 23% in 2022, too.
Many homeowners are now recognising the peak in online home hunting over the festive holidays, so are much more inclined to place their property on the market. The result is likely to be an increased number of homes for sale, with enhanced choice stimulating the interest and excitement of buyers.
Scrolling through Rightmove is always a popular activity, more so in the festive period and this trend is set to continue in Christmas 2023.
