Extended Eat Out to Help Out

September 02, 2020

Last month our local pubs, cafes, and restaurants were able to offer guests a 50% discount (up to £10pp) as part of the Government-funded Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

It was wonderful to see so many of our favourite spots take advantage of this opportunity, from Facebook it was easy to see how successful these days were for local businesses.

Given the apparent success, it’s no surprise that a fair few have decided to personally extend the scheme in to September.

We’ve noticed the occasional Facebook post to discover where this is still on offer, so we thought we’d help spread the word for these local businesses.

Regardless of the offers available, please do return to your ‘local’ when possible and you feel comfortable to do so. We are incredibly lucky to have such fantastic amenities in all of our branch towns so we will do all we can to continue to support.

If you know of any that need adding to our list, do email marketing@mackenziesmith.co.uk and we’ll update as soon as possible.

All of the following favourites from our teams have extended (at the time of writing) but please do confirm when booking as we would hate to disappoint…

The Exchequer, Fleet

A Red Mist Leisure pub, offering seasonal menus and typical British pub food, with a great patio. Roughly 2 miles from Fleet, well-located for a pit-stop along the canal walk, this pub is a favourite of our Land Director, Katherine Gray.

Red Mist Leisure have extended across their pubs, which means you could also take this opportunity to visit the recent addition of Castle Inn in Farnham or the Red Lion in Odiham.

The Hogget, Hook

With a reputation for burgers and ribs, honestly… just check out the menu, The Hogget does also accommodate for vegetarians and vegans. When the sun returns you can take advantage of their spacious garden.

The Station, Fleet

There’s a rumour that their offer has been extended until 9th September only, but worth checking. Alternatively, there is a £5 voucher when you sign up for the mailing list.

Bill’s, Farnham

Some of the larger chains, such as Harvester and Toby Carvery have confirmed they’re extending. Luckily, we can include Bills amongst them, with the Farnham restaurant conveniently located on Castle Street.

De Havilland Arms, Fleet

Located in the popular development of Elvetham Heath on the fringes of Fleet, this Hall & Woodhouse country pub has also extended their offer into September, confirmed on their website to last the month.

The Squirrel, Farnborough

In North Camp Village, this local pub has also confirmed the extension of the 50% off scheme until the end of September on their website. You’ll also find their detailed Covid guidelines online, for reassurance. The same group own The Greyhound in Ash Vale – so the scheme is also being extended there.

The Oat Sheaf, Fleet

A favourite of our Fleet team, this pub boasts a great garden in the centre of town and have detailed guidelines of the changes they’ve made to remain Covid compliant, online. They confirmed the extension via Facebook but it’s only for 2 weeks and you need to sign up to their mailing list in advance.

The Tweseldown, Church Crookham, Fleet

This beautiful pub has confirmed the extension of the scheme on its website, whilst the menu is slightly reduced, there is still “something for everyone"…
