There are so many activities you can get stuck into with the family; from the all-important egg hunts to bonnet parades.
As you have two joyful weeks to occupy, we have put together a selection of activities that you can enjoy with the children. So, whether you are keeping it local or heading further afield, you will have plenty to keep the kids occupied.
We’re pleased to be supporting this great activity from Guildford Borough Council. An easter egg hunt will take place at Ash Recreation Ground. Whilst the children are hunting for treats, there will be a range of stalls within the centre for the adults. Do come along for this free event.
Surrey Heath Museum are holding their very own Easter egg hunt. Why not see if you, or rather the children, can find all the eggs hidden around the Museum. You can drop-in at any time of the day, so this could be a great rainy day outing for the family.
Other fun activities, such as an Easter quiz, and paint your own egg are also taking place. Whilst you are there, you could take a glance at Surrey Heath’s Art Collection exhibition or find out more about the area’s past.
There are many fun LEGO activities to enjoy at Milestones Museum over Easter. From discovering 100 LEGO models of buildings, and hunting for treasures from around the world, there is so much to occupy children of all ages. Make and take activities will also take place, allowing the children to get a little creative. Advanced bookings can be made online, for which you get a 20% discount, so do visit their website for further details.
The Princess Mead shopping centre will be holding a selection of activities during the Easter Holidays. This kicks off with an Easter Animated Display, which will continue from 1st – 26th April. You could also drop into the centre and get the kids involved with the Easter themed workshop (Tues 11th April) and Free Face Painting (Sat 15th April).
Celebrating over 100 years of involvement in motorsport, Mercedes Benz World offers you and the children an unprecedented insight into the world of motors. Exhibitions highlight the evolution of motors over the years, so this could prove an educational and interesting trip for all the family. If you wanted to get actively involved a simulator zone gives you the opportunity to set a new racing record, or the little ones can get a taste for motors at the specialist indoor circuit.
Birdworld is holding a Pirate themed Easter break, with some swashbuckling fun and games. Get into the adventurer spirit, and come along in Fancy Dress. Easter would not be the same with an Easter egg hunt, so why not pay another visit on Wed 5th April or Wed 19th April for an Easter Egg Hunt.
As we enter a new season there will be plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables available for picking at West Green Farm. There is also a picnic area here, where you can settle down and enjoy the fresh produce from the farm, which also includes home-made ice cream.
Take a walk on the wild side at Alice Holt, where you can adventure through the woods and enjoy a little leisurely time or a picnic with the family. Experience life in the trees with Go Ape, or search for The Gruffalo on one of the many trails available. An Adventurer Holiday Camp is also being held here over the half term, where the children can set up their own secret camp deep in the woods. They can also venture into fun activities such as den building, fire making, tracking and stalking, mud sculptures, environmental art, whittling, forest games, tree climbing, stream dipping and more.
With the arrival of spring, the Moomins have come out of hibernation at Kew Gardens. Join them for a botanical adventure at Kew this Easter. An adventure trail will also take place, you can also book online in advance and save a little extra.
Children can discover fascinating butterfly facts and use a magnifier to admire the intricate details and diversity of these beautiful creatures. The exhibition includes a kaleidoscope of colourful species ethically sourced from Central and South America, Africa and Asia.
Cadburys National Egg Hunt takes place again this year at various locations nationwide, one of which is The Vyne. With over 400 years of history and a roof project currently taking place, there will be lots to see and do. You can spot our swans as they glide across the lake, see a six centuries-old oak tree and wander by the house visited by feisty Tudor monarchs. You can even take a peek at some wildlife from our purpose-built bird hide.
Having only recently celebrated our 25th birthday, this Easter also marks a new chapter for us at Mackenzie Smith, so it will prove a particularly jubilant one.
Do remember that our offices will close for the bank holidays, so if you have any questions regarding your property search or require a valuation, please contact your local office in advance.
