The year that’s been…

July 06, 2021

Managing Director, Stephen Tetlow

It is with great pride that I read the numerous, and daily, 5* Trustpilot reviews that my colleagues across the company receive.

It serves to remind me just what an impact we have on the lives of the people we come into contact with on a daily basis, and, most importantly, all the clients we act for, be they buyers or sellers, in our efforts to deliver outstanding customer service.

During my lengthy career in estate agency, I have experienced both the lows of a challenging market, driven by the likes of a worldwide recession, to equally the highs of a joint tax relief deadline in the mid-’80s, low-interest rates, and economic growth in the early 2000s.

However, in my opinion, the marketplace over the last 9 months, primarily driven by the Stamp Duty Holiday, has placed perhaps the greatest strain on the whole process of moving home, and all of those involved; from solicitors to financial advisors, surveyors to removal companies, and of course everyone in both lettings and estate agency.

It’s safe to say, it’s been a successful, but challenging year for the property market.

I personally would like to first extend my thanks and appreciation to every one of my colleagues at Mackenzie Smith for their hard work and relentless dedication over the last 12 months, but I would also like to take the opportunity to recognise and congratulate all of our suppliers, conveyancers, financial advisors and more, who have also helped us to deliver outstanding results for our clients.

To all of our clients, I would like to express my thanks to you on behalf of the whole Mackenzie Smith team for your patience, support, and understanding in what we will all no doubt look back on in the future as a marketplace that created great opportunities, but equally, one that we all know was created for the greater good of the country’s economic recovery from the pandemic.

For now, it’s onwards to the next challenge.
