There are an abundance of activities to entertain your children with during the summer holidays. Sometimes it can be difficult to find inspiration day after day, in an ironic twist, there seems to be less concern about finding somewhere to go in rainy weather this year and more regarding finding somewhere to go where it is easy to keep cool and shelter from the sun.

A trip to the beach is usually lovely in the summer, but it isn’t much good if everybody else has had the same idea! Considering how long this sun has lasted, it might be a nice change of scene to venture out of the garden and paddling pool. Coral Reef Waterworld has been recently refurbished and offers five water slides, from the soft and gentle Aqua Slide for young toddlers to the Storm Chaser and Maelstrom for the danger-loving thrill seekers! Make sure that you book well in advance before that you visit.

If you would prefer an elegant walk in historical landscaped gardens, or a trip to a Motor Museum, then Beaulieu is the place to visit. A walk around the Victorian Palace House owned by the Montagu family is a great accompaniment to a stroll or a trip on the monorail around the gardens which vary from wild to highly manicured. Regular events also lure you to this popular venue, including a Beaulieu Super Car Weekend on the 4th- 5th August and a family Volkswagon Camper event on the 10th-12th August.

With teens wanting an activity with a difference, why not try the Airkix Indoor Sky Diving at Basingstoke Leisure Park, a venue which offers a variety of activities such as an ice-skating rink, a bowling complex, Milestones Museums, Odeon Cinema as well as convenient fast food restaurants.

If you have younger children who are full of energy and you just can’t wear them out, take them out to the new indoor play area, the Active Monkey centre in Fleet. A venue with a difference, this is set in a unique historical building featuring a four-tier soft play frame, a climbing frame and a separate area for the under twos. Ideally in this hot summer weather, it is fully air conditioned throughout, making it the ideal space for small to middle sized children to let off steam.

While you are in Fleet, there are plenty of other things to keep the family occupied. Why not have a go at the Summer Safari and Wild Animal Trail, bringing the wonders of Africa right into the town centre. You could win £100 to spend with businesses in Fleet, and entertain the children by hunting exotic animals lurking around the corners. The competition runs until the 1st of September, all you need to do is complete the booklet for your chance to win. You can collect a booklet from our High Street branch in Fleet, you may even spot your first animal at the same time…

Have fun and enjoy your summer!
