Punctuated at the beginning and end by short sharp showers the North Farnborough Infant School Summer Fair on Saturday 9th July, sponsored by Mackenzie Smith, was a great afternoon of fun for the family.

A hive of activity, there were a range of activities available. A variety of stalls included a second hand uniform sale, Phoenix Cards, The Pampered Chef, Jo Magdelena Jewellery, ‘All things nice’ and a parent from the school was selling her homemade bracelets for Mums and daughters alike, the usual homemade cakes stall was there and a toy sale so there was plenty to browse or buy.

If it’s a challenge you were after there was a children’s and separate adult tombola, the classic ‘splat a teacher’ with a wet sponge, football skills challenge, and a coconut shy. For a bit of fun; the bouncy castle, nail and face painting meant all the children went home with smiles on their faces.

The ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar competition’ was an independent stall in aid of one of the schools pupils, who has unfortunately needed to undergo a double transplant, around £30 was raised to help the brave pupil to enter the ‘transplant games’. Refreshments were available from the BBQ or ice cream van. The fair raised over £1000 which is a great achievement especially for such a fun day, though a great deal of work was put in buy the PTA!
