Organisers of Fleet Half Marathon, Fleet 10K and 5K, this registered charity promote community keep fit, as well as raise funds to support athletes and runners in the area.
The Lions, Fleet
If you’re local to Fleet, you may have heard of The Lions, an international voluntary organisation, also based in Aldershot. The Lions are involved in a wide range of projects, from collecting JustGiving donations for local families to helping Ukrainian refugees, and sponsoring a honey bee colony.The Lions provide community services and are often involved in local fundraising events. Vision for Youth, Yateley
Yateley based charity, Vision for Youth, provides a wide range of support and guidance for the under 25’s. Assisting with everything from educational needs, to career opportunities and physical fitness, they offer a fun, community focused environment. Dependant on sponsorship and donations, the charity welcomes local volunteers.
RSPCA Hants & Surrey Border Branch
If you’re an animal lover, you may already visit the RSPCA charity shops in Ash Vale and North Camp. They are always on the lookout for volunteers, from shop assistants to cat cuddlers; event fundraisers, local drivers with transport, and more. If you’d like to become involved, you can find out more here or contact their volunteer coordinator by email.
The Vine Centre, Aldershot
The Vine Centre is a registered CIO based in Aldershot that helps homeless and vulnerable adults in North East Hampshire. Governed by a board of trustees, the centre provides individual support for each client, whether this involves training, counselling, networking with local agencies, accommodation or simply a square meal.
Volunteers can be involved with activities such as events, challenges, and catering, to teaching IT skills. If you’d consider sparing your time for this cause, please contact Mary Webb here. If you wish to donate, this can be done through JustGiving.
Hartley Wintney F.C.
Founded in 1897, Hartley Wintney F.C. is a FA Charter Standard club, funded by sponsors and supported by hardworking volunteers.With grounds at The Memorial Playing Fields complete with disabled access, flood lights and a fully licensed club house with satellite television, they offer a fun-filled, friendly, and competitive community. Marie Curie and British Heart Foundation, Farnborough
Right at the heart of Queensmead Shopping Centre in Farnborough, you’ll find two charity shops close to many hearts; Marie Curie and British Heart Foundation (BHF).Funding life-saving research and support through terminal and debilitating conditions, these charities welcome volunteers.
BHF are searching for volunteer online workers and shop assistants, whilst donations to the shop can be made by freepost, without the need to visit the shop.
With Marie Curie, there’s opportunity to become a Helper Volunteer and make a real difference to someone’s quality of life. Donations can be made through their Great Daffodil Appeal, funding vital nursing care.
You can take part a wide range of charity sporting events for both charities, whilst there is also opportunity to organize your own fundraiser.
