10 years is a significant milestone by any means, so as Simon Dredge, Branch Manager of Hook, reaches his 10 year work anniversary with Mackenzie Smith, it is an occasion that cannot go overlooked. To mark this achievement, Simon was honoured for all his hard work and dedication over this eventful decade with a Red Letter Day voucher, personally gifted by our Sales Director, Stephen Tetlow.
A decade is certainly a noteworthy period of service. To put it into context, the year Simon joined us also saw the launch of the first iPhone and the publishing of the last Harry Potter book. While the iPhone proved revolutionary to the world of technology, Simon has made a personal impact on the thriving village of Hook, where his personable nature has enabled him to build tremendous rapport with the local residents.
It would fair to say Simon’s contribution to Mackenzie Smith has been hugely impactful, which is quite ironic seeing as he had never even considered estate agency as a career. Simon, a marketing graduate, was actually inspired by his Estate Agent brother to venture into this field, selecting Mackenzie Smith due to the client orientated approach we are commonly associated with. Introduced to us, fresh to the industry, Simon has gone on to work in several different branches over the past decade, alongside various managers, past and present, who he says “enabled…(him) to develop my career to where it is today. I have never worked for another Estate Agent and am very happy to be working for Mackenzie Smith. Not only did they give me my lucky break, but they continue to be a leading agent that a lot of agents want to work for.”
Understandably, the estate agency industry is full of surprises and Simon has certainly had his fair share of jaw-clenching moments. Recollecting a memorable experience, Simon shared “I once dealt with a transaction involving three of our own properties within the chain. Whilst the transaction went through smoothly I had a big responsibility in ensuring it did. The client concerned has become a familiar face that I often chat to in the village, as we have a shared passion for cars and the Le Mans 24 hours.”
Simon’s drive and efforts have by no means gone unmissed, as Sales Director, Stephen Tetlow notes, “we have always sought to encourage the growth and development of our team members and Simon is an excellent example of the opportunities this profession provides to not only those who work hard, but those who have the desire to attain career progression. Having joined our company 10 years ago Simon’s progress has seen him rise from a Trainee Sales Negotiator to the Hook Branch Manager, having worked with him closely over the last 5 years I am personally very proud of his desire and hunger to provide excellent customer service at all times to all of his clients.”
Simon has clearly proven to have become a valuable member of the team, who is always prepared to go the extra mile to provide an attentive service to all his clients. The future is clearly bright for Simon and we wish him all the best for the years to come.
