Trustpilot Reviews

Simon is one of Mackenzie Smith’s longest serving agents having first joined the company back in 2007. His background in marketing, coupled with the fact he grew up in Hook, meant he was a valuable asset to the team from day one. Over the last decade, Simon has enjoyed building relationships with many in the local community and has earnt himself an excellent reputation for providing accurate valuations and attentive customer care.

If Simon isn’t in the office, you’ll find him on the slopes, with skiing being one of his favourite getaway activities. His love of extreme sport also extends to mountain biking and the annual 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

About Hook

For those looking for a more rural locality, our Hook office can offer a selection of individual and character properties in the surrounding countryside and up to the fringes of Basingstoke, including Old Basing, Newnham, South Warnborough, Odiham and Rotherwick.

Properties for sale in Hook

The majority of Hook was built in the late eighties and early nineties, so the village is greatly populated by modern houses within estates which have always been in demand, but in particular the North side of the village has always been the preferred side of Hook. From here the village is easy to walk to and the open countryside to Rotherwick and beyond are also very close by.

Hook is unique in that, just a short stroll from the village centre and mainline station, almost every type of property can be found; apartments (new and old), retirement housing, family homes, character properties; it really does offer a diverse mix, all in walking distance.

The area also boasts a variety of family-friendly housing developments including the popular Holt Park, which provide good value for the growing family with countryside walks on the doorstep. The business parks are being regenerated; some buildings which used to be home to large businesses are now converted into apartments, offering affordable living just off Junction 5 of the M3.

The surrounding villages, such as Newnham, Odiham and Rotherwick are well-renowned for period properties and unique country homes, as well as benefitting from a rural location.

Living in Hook

The majority of buyers moving into Hook are young families and commuters. Hook provides excellent commuter links via the mainline train station that serves London Waterloo in just under an hour, along with the M3 and M4 motorways which are very easily accessible.

Many also choose Hook for the local schooling, which is superb. Hook infants and primary school is very popular and a short walk from where ever you live in the village. Robert May’s secondary school in Odiham, which serves Hook, benefits from excellent Ofsted results and is also a major decision factor for those choosing to live in Hook.
