This area is well known for its beautiful countryside and these many villages are home to some exceptionally beautiful character properties which are always in demand.
There’s something very special about the heritage and patina of a property perhaps hundreds of years old. The inherent character of a property, the nooks and crannies, ducking under beams, cosy fireplaces, range ovens and old latch doors, is something difficult to recreate, and as such there are only a limited number of these highly desirable homes that will ever be available.

For many dedication to the historic accuracy of the property is not necessarily the ideal and then a character property, depending on its grade listing and other planning consents, becomes the inspiration for a modern interior, often retaining the character features and construct of the exterior.
A bonus with many larger character properties is that the come with a beautifully established garden, perhaps with wisteria, honeysuckle, a herb garden or an abundance of sweet buddleia, all popular in the cottage garden.
