Yateley really is a thriving community with a whole host of local sporting groups, hobby sessions and fundraising events. To help plan your month and showcase some of the community run events taking place this month, we’ve put together a small snapshot.
Following on from last year’s inaugural success this year’s Yateley Cask and Cork Festival promises to be an exciting event with the community at its heart. This year we’re honoured to be the proud sponsors of the event.
With many beers, lagers, wines and ciders from the best local breweries, vineyards and orchards, as well as delicious food from quality providers and entertainment from up-and-coming talent, the Festival will become a fixture on your social calendar for years to come!
Whether you want to come and taste something a little bit different, reacquaint yourself with an old favourite, or simply enjoy the late summer sun with friends and family, there’s something for everyone. We can promise fun (lots of it), sun (we hope!!), and a drink (or two, or three…)
This event will be joint organised by the Yateley United Football Club and the Yateley Cricket Club.
All profits will go to give continued support to these clubs to maintain and improve these facilities within the Yateley Community giving its youth on-going sports opportunities.
Tickets cost just £8 in advance, £10 on the day for each session

Visit St. Peter’s to learn about the history of this church, which has its origins in Saxon times. Find out how it evolved from what it was then to the building we see today. Discover some of its hidden secrets and piece together the Crystal Cup. The event takes place as part of the Heritage Open Days festival, established in 1994 and now the country’s largest heritage festival, opening the doors to historic monuments and buildings, in particular those normally closed to the public.
Tickets are Free of Charge and the coffee shop will be open for the morning.
Families are invited to have fun and get active at this year’s Fitness Funday. Hosted by Sandhurst Town Council and Sandhurst Town Football Club, there will be a great selection of sporting activities available in the afternoon, suitable for all ages and capabilities. It’s a great introduction to a diverse selection of sports, including snag golf, short tennis, gymnastics, ladies football along with a Bleep Test, Tug of War and some free health and physio advice. Sandhurst Joggers will also be hosting a free fun run; 1k for Juniors and 5k for Adults as an introduction to the club.
The event is free to attend, so head along to Sandhurst Memorial Park for a sporting afternoon.
YCBBS invite you to enjoy the Big Band sounds and vocal styles from the ‘Golden Age of Swing’ presented on record each month by members and guests.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at £3.50 with interval refreshments available.
The Hog’s Back Brewery is now in its 25th year. Famous for the flagship beer T.E.A. (Traditional English Ale), they also produce some dozen or so different beers at any one time during the year. Mel Rees will be bringing some of these for you to try and explain the processes and ingredients which go together to make their unique flavours. All ticket holders will be entered into a draw to win a selection of beers on the day. Over 18s only. Places are limited so advanced booking is essential with tickets priced at £6.50. You can book online here.
