Although we have seen the Spring Market breaking through, the housing market tends to slow down with less property coming to the market, in the run up to a general election.
The reasons for this is that sellers want to have a ‘wait and see’ approach to see who get in. We are told by the media that this is one of the most open elections for years. Some homeowners are deciding to put off any decision in selling until the election result.
We have been very busy here agreeing and progressing sales for our clients, the perception that the housing market has slowed is probably greater than the reality; people already on the market are attracting buyers.
The general election has not however changed the mindset of buyers. We are seeing higher than expected applicant levels for this time of year and therefore demand is yet again outstripping supply.
If you need to sell this year I feel it is a great time to place your property on to the market now. Buyers are ready and waiting for more choice of property to buy.
If you would like advice on the right time and price to market your property please call 01256 764666 or drop into our office in Hook Village Centre and we will be pleased to assist.
