A Facebook group called “Save our Station (SOS)” is appealing for support to combat the proposed cuts from South Western Railways to the services at Winchfield and Hook, as part of a timetable consultation.

South Western Railway (SWR) has issued a consultation paper to reduce services from both stations. These reductions will affect the morning trains, reducing the number of morning services from Hook and Winchfield from eight to five, and subsequently increasing these services from Fleet.  Further details can be found here.

Local residents, along with the local MP, Rayil Jayawardena, are coming together to show support to #SaveOurStation. Supporters are aiming to ensure their voice is heard, with a petition gathering signatures here.

The group have until 22nd December to represent their position on the matter and are seeking as much support as possible at this time.

It is a great show of community spirit, aiming to protect an important asset for local residents and businesses. Visit the #SaveOurStation Facebook page for more information.
