What is a HIP?

Since the 14th December 2007, the Governments Housing Act meant that all properties being offered for sale in the UK require a Home Information Pack (HIP).

A HIP includes;

  1. An index of contents
  2. Energy performance certificate
  3. A sale statement (basic information about the sale including the sellers name, address and whether the property is freehold or leasehold)
  4. If the property is leasehold then the appropriate documents are included.
  5. Evidence of title.

The Energy Performance Certificate ( EPC ) provides a rating from A to G with the most energy efficient homes being rated A, there is also a Co2 rating that is graded in a similar manner.

How do I obtain one?

Choose Mackenzie Smith as your agent and we will take care of everything for you.

We have formed a partnership with a leading HIP provider, meaning we can get your home to the market fully compliant in a matter of hours.

For more information on HIPs and to discuss any aspect of the selling process please call your local office, or email freevaluations@mackenziesmith.co.uk
