Rotherwick is a small village situated just outside of Hook village and in the Hart district of Hampshire. It is also located between the Whitewater and the Lyde rivers, both tributaries of the Loddon. Rotherwick is famous for its village hall, erected in 1933 by a charitable trust set up in 1931 by an American couple, Mr. and Mrs. De Forest, in memory of their son Charles De Forest.

Nearby Tylney Hall was built in 1700 on a site to the south of Rotherwick Village that had been occupied buy a mansion since the 16th century. The large gardens have received a great deal of consideration over the years; predominantly laid out in a formal Versailles style with other gardens including the Italian Terrace, Dutch Garden, Kitchen Garden and Rose Garden. During world war one the mansion was used as a hospital and in later years the land of the estate has been divided.  Now Tylney Hall is a 4 star luxury hotel set in 66 acres with visitors enjoying views over the countryside and of the lake from the boathouse bridge. The remainder of the land has gone to Tylney Golf Club and an outdoor education centre.
