In just 10 days time (29th April), Fleet will once again be filled with runners for the annual Fleet Half Marathon, rescheduled from the March event due to snow. We’re pleased to support this fantastic local event each year, this year we have a team of three who will be running, with a support team ready to cheer them on!

The Fleet Half Marathon is one of the longest running, and reputable, half marathons, now in its 37th year having been started in 1982.

Fleet_Crookham_HM_logo_resizedThe course offers a great community interest, with road closures throughout the area allowing local residents, friends and families to line the streets offering their support along the 13.1 mile route. If you’re planning on coming, one of the best places to watch the race is right outside our front door in Fleet from 10.30am. The race goes past our office on Fleet Road twice, at miles 2 and 5, giving you two chances to see the runners on their way. The finish line is over at Calthorpe Park, a great place to congregate at the end.

The weather for the race day, looking slightly ahead, looks like a pleasant day with temperatures expected at 19 degrees and at the time of writing, no forecast of rain!

With three of our team members taking up the challenge themselves; Land Director, Katherine Gray, Yateley’s Branch Manager, Gavin Fouracre and Farnborough’s Stephen Down, we’ll be there to cheer them on and wish them all, along with the other runners, the very best of luck for the day.

There are plenty of useful reminders and tips to make sure runners and spectators are prepared and enjoy the event safely on the Fleet Half Marathon website.
