Landlords deciding to sell leave some tenants with little choice of property

Michael Clarke MARLA Letting AgentThe rise in property prices has had an interesting impact of the rental market locally with a definite shift in the availability of properties to let now being felt.

We have seen a large increase in investment landlords looking for modern apartments to let out locally which has given the professional tenants looking to rent a good selection of properties to choose from.

On the other hand we have also seen a significant number of landlords who have decided to sell their properties to take advantage of the high sale prices. This seems to be the landlords that couldn’t sell their family homes while the property market was depressed so decided to let them out instead.

For the first time in quite a few years the value of these properties has significantly increased with a high demand tempting these ‘reluctant’ landlords to sell. This has meant a distinct lack of properties for families to choose from.

We have many young families now registered looking for 3 -4 bedroom properties to rent all over our local area including Elvetham Heath, Ancells Farm, Zebon Copse in the Fleet area, Southwood and Barningley Park in Farnborough, Holt Park and the general Hook area, Hartley Wintney and anywhere in Ash Vale especially those properties close to the railway station.

If you would like an appraisal of the local rental market and want to find out how much rent you could achieve we would be delighted to help.
