UK mortgage lending has increased by a fifth, says the lenders’ group.

UK mortgage lending surged to its highest monthly level since October 2008 in May, with activity even surprising lenders.  This is really good news for those looking to move and for first time buyers alike and proved that the housing market recovery is well underway.  However, brokers are keen to stress that this does not mark a return to the runaway housing market seen before the credit crunch.

The boost to the mortgage market has been extremely apparent and noticeable through the increased activity within all of the Mackenzie Smith branches with a marked increase in buyers registering for our property searches.
