This years Hartley Wintney Village festival took place on Saturday the 11th June, as always on the village common overlooked by the historic oaks.  Despite the recent unreliable weather the day was blessed with sunshine and looked to be the biggest and busiest one so far.

Starting with a float procession around the village green the day was packed with Arena events including performances by a marching band and Morris Men. The ever popular Tug-of-war and children’s races gave an opportunity for everyone to get involved in the arena action. Other entertainment included the Pinxton Puppet Show, Bouncy Castle, Sumo Wrestling, Beat the Goalie, Mini Fairground, a display of classic motor vehicles and many stalls run by local clubs and societies.

Refreshments were readily available be it tea or beer you were after and we were pleased to be sponsoring the BBQ again this year!  The profit from the sale of programmes together with all the proceeds from the street collection during the Procession will go to Naomi House Hospice.
