Estate Agents Church Crookham

Church Crookham, still considered a village in its own right, is now joined to the South of the town of Fleet.  When entering Fleet from the South, motorists are welcomed to Church Crookham before reaching Fleet town. The Queen Elizabeth Barracks were established in Church Crookham in 1971 for the 1st Battalion of the Gurkha Rifles, the Battalion vacated the barracks in August 2000 and Bryant Homes bought the site for development in 2002, extending the amenities and housing in the village. The suburb retains its village community with its own infant and junior schools, local shop, post office and pharmacy, as well as clubs such as ‘The Crookham Players’.

Another well known site is Tweseldown race course.  This track was used for the steeplechase event in the 1948 London Olympics and Churchill is known to have raced here while at Sandhurst. Of historical interest, Redfields House was the site of the only commercially successful tobacco plantation in Britain, this site closed in 1938 and is now home to another local landmark, Redfields Garden Centre. However Redfields House is part of the buildings that now encompass St Nicholas' School.

The pleasant Basingstoke Canal passes through Church Crookham providing an excellent location for dog walking or jogging. The landscape of the area, with woodland and the large flat expanse between Church Crookham and Aldershot is pleasant in its own right and has appealed as a filming location on several occasions, including the 2002 James Bond movie ‘Die Another Day’ and the 2006 film ‘Children of Men’.
